Horticulturist, Floriculturist
Knightscapes founder and owner, Jake Knight, graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Horticulture, emphasis on Floriculture. His plant choices, plant care, soil and pest control knowledge is rooted in science.
Jake is dedicated to designing Coloradoscapes and Xeriscapes whenever possible to conserve water, our most precious resource.
Jake comes by his love of plants naturally. It really is in his DNA. Jake's great grandfather, a landscape architect, planted the ivy at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
Licensed & Insured
We are licensed and insured. We only hire professional masonry contractors, plumbers and electricians.
We use the highest quality plants, landscape and hardscape materials. We strive to source plants and hardscape materials locally when possible. We use only certified, child and pet-safe fertilizers and pest control products.

Our Mission...
Our mission, in addition to water conservation through responsible landscape development, is to provide our clients with inspired, professional design and high-quality plant and construction products without compromise. Unlike our competition, we have chosen to be transparent in our consulting, labor and materials costs and mark-ups. We provide written estimates based on time and materials + 40%-65% mark-up on items purchased at wholesale prices. This is 120%-135% less mark-up than most landscaping companies.
Our Fees:
- Consulting and Design Rates: $100 per hour, plus mileage outside of Denver city limits
- Labor rates - $50-$75 per hour for skilled laborers, depends on discipline (masonry vs. equipment operator vs. planting)
- Equipment rental - Cost + 35% mark up, including delivery and pick-up fees
- Organic Dump Fees - $80 per load + mileage
- Wholesale product purchases – Cost 847-494-3331% mark-up (our competition – 847-494-3331% mark-up)
- Permits, if necessary - Cost + 20%, plus administrative hours $35 per hour and mileage as necessary
All pricing is dependent on specific jobsite and requirements for completion. If our fees will differ from the fees above, we will discuss it in detail with you prior to estimating the job.
